Benchmark Exam #1
Now that you are familiarized with the structure of this course, we'll do our first benchmark exam to give us a clearer picture on where you will need to start improving your French sounds. This will be your third submission after Your First Recording & Sound Primer Submission.

To do this exercise, simply play the recording below and record yourself repeating the short, medium, and long phrases in the pauses between repetitions. Again, don't worry if it sounds bad - think of this as your "before" accent. We'll compare it to the final unit later and see how much you've progressed! You do not need to resubmit for this exercise.

Benchmark Phrase
Record & Submit

Don't worry if you still can't yet pronounce some of these sounds, as they will come with practice. Also be sure to check out the Phonetic Notation Key often for more practice.

For now, give your mouth a rest or move on to Unit 1
.
